What is The Fear of God
What is the fear of God
Joshua Blessed

Blessed be our Almighty.
Today, we will read from the Book of Job, also from the Book of Psalms, and the Book of Prophets.
And today, we will receive another blessing from Yahweh.
And this is the blessing called: What is the Fear of God.
The Fear of God
Years ago, as I attended Pentecost for church in Los Angeles, I have heard many times that preachers from a pulpit say such a word:
They have a fear of God, therefore they were blessed.
Those people indeed had the fear of God.
And when I heard this, I was wondering:
What is it? What is this fear of God?
After service, I came to this preacher, and to another, and to another, and asked them:
“Brother, you have preached today from a pulpit for fear of God. Tell me, please, I beseech you, if you know—what is the fear of God?”
And they looked at me and said, “Do you not know? Oh, come on, man.”
And then I appreciated that he himself did not know.
Well, day by day I was wondering what it is, until Yahweh had compassion on me, and He revealed it by Himself, in a very simple way—because I am a simple man.
And He spoke to me and said to me…
I will tell you what He said. But before, in order to understand, this is very important in our daily life.
Because there are many, many messages in the Bible about fear of God.
Yet today we will just recall some.
But most important, as you know, the Bible teaches us that we shall be wise virgins and fools.
Those who—
but the Book of Prophet says:
The promotion of the fools shall be shamed.
This is life and death.
Please, listen carefully and apply your heart to this testimony.
And I pray that Yahweh will bless you and give you not only knowledge, but also desire to pursue after righteousness.
Message of the Fear
First, we find the message of the fear written in the righteous man whose name is Job.
And let us read together. I will read from Chapter 28, Verse 12:
But where shall wisdom be found?
And where is the place of understanding?
Man knoweth not the price thereof;
Neither is it found in the land of the living.
The depth saith, It is not in me.
And the sea saith, It is not with me.
It cannot be gotten for gold,
Neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.
It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir,
With the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
The gold and the crystal cannot equal it.
Now you can see how precious the wisdom is about.
And the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.
No mention shall be made of coral or of pearls,
For the price of wisdom is above.
I pray that Yahweh will give you desire for the wisdom of Yahweh.
Fear of Yahweh is above rubies, above all this possession of this world.
This is love and life everlasting.
The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it,
Neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
Whence then cometh wisdom?
And where is the place of understanding?
Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living,
And kept close from the fowls of the air.
Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
And Yahweh knoweth the place thereof.
For Yahweh looketh to the ends of the earth,
And seeth under the whole heaven;
To make the weight for the winds;
And He weigheth the waters by measure.
When He made a decree for the rain,
And a way for the lightning of the thunder;
Then did He see it, and declare it;
He prepared it, yea, and searched it out.
Now listen, Verse 28:
And unto man Yahweh said, Behold…
Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;
and to depart from evil is understanding.
Do you want to be a wise man? I do!
Do you want to have understanding of the Scripture?
I do.
Next will be Psalm 111:10:
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
a good understanding have all they that do His commandments:
His praise endureth forever.
Now open with me The Book of Proverbs, Chapter 2, Verse 6:
For the Lord giveth wisdom:
out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
Scripture teaches me, and you, that we should seek wisdom above rubies, gold, pleasure—everything in this world. Why?
Because wisdom will lead you to life and life eternal.
And Yahweh gives wisdom to whom He will.
As I heard from a pulpit preaching many times, I was wondering within myself: What is wisdom?
And no one could give me interpretation.
Well, they themselves did not know what it is.
I was in tears, because even when I read the Scriptures many times myself, I could not understand.
Then Yahweh looked from heaven on me and decided to reveal to me:
Oh, what a blessing!
And then Yahweh said to me: “Verily, verily I say unto you, that wisdom, and the fear of the Lord is to keep My commandments.”
Oh, when I heard this, I asked:
Will it be only for once, or do you want to be among the fools?
You see how simple it is.
I pray that you will remember this simple testimony.
Next time when you read the Bible and you see “fear of God,” you will know this is speaking of keeping His commandments.
For the Scripture says:
All those who have the fear of God have good understanding—why? Because they keep His commandments.
With even such a small portion of Scriptures, He teaches us and guides us to the path of life.
I pray that you will receive this testimony, and from this time on you will pursue after righteousness, obeying His voice and doing His commandments.
For His commandments are wisdom.
Be wise, rather than a fool, for only the wise shall inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.
I bless you—be blessed, and follow after wisdom by keeping Yahweh’s commandments.
And if you are not able to keep them, I know also Yahweh has given me desire to keep His commandments, and He calls me for keeping His commandments.
Therefore, if you are of His sheep, He will also give it to you. This is not for carnal man. This is not for flesh, but for those who are written in the Book of Life.
if you do this, it is not in vain.
Peace. Shalom!
